Metabolic Alkalosis

Metabolic alkalosis produces an excess of base (alkali), resulting in an elevated tissue pH. Metabolic alkalosis is caused by too much bicarbonate in the blood. Symptoms include confusion, hand tremors, light-headedness, muscle twitching, nausea and vomiting.
