Peripheral Lipoatrophy
Lipodystrophy, also known as peripheral lipoatrophy, is a condition characterised by abnormal loss of body fat (adipose tissue). The loss of fat occurs in certain areas of the body, including the arms, legs, face and buttocks. Lipodystrophy occurs in 30% to 50% of people who are infected with HIV.
