Skin: Dimpling in Lower Back (Sacral Dimpling)
A sacral dimple, or sacral pit, is a small identation or hole located just above the buttocks. Sacral dimples are present at birth and are usually harmless. Sacral dimples that are accompanied by a nearby tuft or hair, skin tag, or abnormal discoloration of the skin can sometimes be associated with serious underlying abnormalities of the spine or spinal cord.
